The Presence of Digital Money
2021-11-30 11:27 - 0 CommentsCredit cards make life so much more easier that you do not have to carry stacks of moneys any more. Every time when you buy something the only thing you use is just a piece of card. But sometimes it also makes consumption unreasonable. People lost the sense of physical money. I created some new concepts of credit cards to remind people that digital money also has the similar physical attribute as the old money. They are not just numbers. You can feel it so that you can try to control your consumption.

Would you rather bus?
2021-11-30 11:13 - 0 CommentsPublic transportation reduces traffic as well as greenhouse gas emissions. So then, let's make them more FUN, with built in "Would You Rather" questions. Every minute or two, passengers will see a different question across the upper bus wall, asking them to choose which of two options "they would rather." They vote by pressing the red/blue button on their seat, and shortly after, a red or blue light above their seat will indicate their vote. All the votes will be tallied, with the final percentages lit up beside each of the two answer options.

Gymnerator
2021-11-30 10:53 - 0 CommentsTackles two important issues of modern society, environment and sedentarism. Imagine a park with loads of gymnastic bikes put to common usage, would be nice right ?It gets better though, all the bikes are connected to a electric generator, which supplies the park energy usage, so by exercising you are helping to save some electricity!=D Submitted Bruno Galli Miranda.
Mr. Potato Peel
2021-11-30 10:52 - 0 CommentsEnter Mr Potato Peel. This charming fellow is a plastic cover for a collection bucket, with silly face parts that can be added and changed (Mr. Potato Head style). He keeps the food waste out of sight and scent -- and when his mouth door is opened, the lucky composter hears a recording of the words for various fruits and vegetables in foreign languages. Fun AND educational!

The Hope Rewards
2021-11-30 10:09 - 0 CommentsThe idea is to teach compassion in a fun and interactive way. This is a video game that has three choices of play: (1)Three ethics questions, (2) Choosing the ending of a video scenario or (3) Viewer watches a short video depicting life as the member of a selected group (Autism, other disability, homeless, other culture). Machine would be banked with MANY scenarios and information – as so not to become predictable. Original purpose: autism awareness, but can be used for various other reasons.
Garbage Jukebox
2021-11-27 15:49 - 0 CommentsCan we keep the streets cleaner by making it fun to do? It’s common in both Portugal and Spain to have street parties on warm weekend nights. The problem though is the rubbish these parties make. The solution here is to make a juke box that isn’t powered by coins, but drinks cans and bottles. By cleaning up you can keep the party going.

Talking Buildings
2021-11-27 14:13 - 0 CommentsIn many cities, people that live in apartment buildings don’t really know their own neighbors. Talking Buildings is an activity created to help transform urban apartment buildings into living communities, filled with support and love. The activity is quite simple, consisting of a set of challenges to be placed daily in the building’s mailboxes, throughout a given week. These challenges are handed out by someone who lives in the building and wants to be a change agent.

Pedestrian Crossing Light
2021-11-25 18:03 - 0 CommentsThe TV screen will show short clips as long as there is red light.
Clips like funny stuff from youtube, parts from favorite tv shows etc.
That way people will enjoy standing in the red light rather then being bored and pissed at it (thus, walking while it's on).

Who Wants to be a Laundry-naire?
2021-11-25 18:00 - 0 CommentsAir-drying on a clothesline or rack instead of machine is an easy way to cut energy usage and also save money. With "Who Wants to be a Laundry-naire?" you can turn a chore into a game show! Watch the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" style gameshow on the clip-on screen, and buzz in your answers by pressing the letter keys beside each clothes line (can play with a partner...good incentive to turn laundry into a social event with other family members).

Love Machine
2021-11-24 17:07 - 0 CommentsWhat’s funny about buying at the authomatic machines? Absolutely nothing, and if we’re talking about buying condoms it could become even embarassing.
What if the authomatic machine becomes a win-only slot machine, which gives you a funny forecast of the use of the winning?
We think that kind of object can change the way of thinking about the condoms subject and will remind the importance of having safe sex.

The Talking Recycling Bin
2021-11-24 16:58 - 0 CommentsThere will be 2 small sensors in the recycling bin that will detect rubbish or Movement and once triggered it will activate the speaker which will then say “Thanks.” but then will say an interesting fact like “ You have just saved the average person 10% of work of making a coke can or crisp packet or something the same and that will go far to be used by someone else or you never know it could end up that you drinking out of the same can you have used before”.

Openworld: the Game of Your Dreams
2021-11-24 16:34 - 0 CommentsAn Openworld "Game of Your Dreams" aims to engage players around the world in virtually defining what they see as workable ideals - projects to develop exemplary areas where self-funding innovations in learning, health, water, food, and the environment can be introduced.

Polite Light
2021-11-24 16:10 - 0 CommentsPeople often leave their offices at the end of the day and forget the lights on. This is bad for the company and for the environment. Think about it: if a person works from 8am to 6pm, the lights should be on for only 10 hours, but if they forget to turn it off, it's on for 24 hours, more than twice the necessary. So, can we solve that problem by making turning off the lights fun? My idea is to have a "polite light" that thanks the person every time he/she turns it off. We could use different voices and different languages to say thank you, found in movies or music.

The Friendly Toilet
2021-11-24 15:53 - 0 CommentsOne of the greatest problems in a house is the toilet. Men tend to leave the toilet seat up, and some don't even bother to take it up, with hygenic consequences. This toilet seat talks to the man, when he takes it up it shows interest in what he is doing ( "how was your day?" "have to go again?") and when the seat goes down again, the seat gives a compliment ("that was a good one" "you are really amazing") .
The exact messages depend upon the users. Some would probably like some more daring messages while others would be offended by them, and probably prefer more gallant messages.
Waiting at the Checkout
2021-11-24 15:47 - 0 CommentsThis is for the checkouts in supermarkets. The dividers on the transport belt are put in a gully by the cassier. This is at the end of the transport belt, but the dividers tradionally are needed at the beginning. By giving the dividers a sound of people enjoying a ride (little child on bicycle, people in rollercoaster) people will be stimulated to slide the divider to the beginning of the transport belt. Additionally there can be a disappointed noise when the divider is taken out of the gully and a very scared sound when it slides the wrong way.

Press Bottle
2021-11-24 15:20 - 0 CommentsWe all like to compete, although we don’t always admit it. It’s just genetically coded. We want to compare our intelligence, success, force, skills. Why not using this in recycling?

The Bicycle Bus
2021-11-24 12:21 - 0 CommentsPeople usually prefer to take the bus even for short distances even though one could easily walk instead. Therefor many people miss out on everyday exercise.
If you would create a bus that looks like every other bus but with peddles underneath every seat you would both get your everyday exercise and reduce the pollution of our environment.
