Reserved Seat for Chatting

Public transport gathers different sort of people, however it could be also a tool of socializing and building community just by speaking. Reserved seats for Chatting will be the place where random people could meet, speak, exchange ideas and opinions, and so on. Also is a new and completely free way to entertain the travellers by having a conversation. Those seats act as an icebreaker itself. These idea could be applied to any kind of public transport like trains, underground, buses, plains,,, or even public spaces like malls, pubs, hospitals, squares... Think about it!

Fireworks Ashtray

Most of the people who smoke don't really take care where they throw their cigarette buds. Although there are enough public ashtrays and especially downtown and in pedestrian zones, people still throw their buds on the street. Our idea is to get their attention with lights and sound, by installing a heat sensor on the ashtray plate and connecting it to LED lights formed in the shape of fireworks, and a small speaker. As the cigarette touches the ashtray, the heat sensor will send trigger the lights, and the sound.

When it comes to helping protect the environment, keeping in mind everyday behaviors, like washing your hands, is the key to the bigger picture. Paper towels harm the environment in a number of ways beyond deforestation.

Conscious Shower

The “Conscious Shower” is an alternative to reduce the amount of water spent in the shower in a fun way. To do that, a water meter has to be installed in the shower. It’s necessary to set up an amount of water enough for a shower (eg. 40 liters). So it will be possible to check in a screen how much water is being spent during the shower.

The proposal is to do water attractive, and do people drink more water as usual, making it talk to them. When someone approach, the Drinking Fountain start to say, with a smooth voice, “Drink me Please...”
When pressed the green button, it starts to do noise of someone drinking water, very loud. In other time, it starts to do the sound of water drops, in other tickle laughter, or a nice and relax music, or open faucet very lound, to call attention.
When finish, the Drinking Fountain say "Ahhhhh... delicious water!!" and thanks to people who drink his water.

Can we get more people to replace bottled water for drinking fountains by making it fun to do?
BIG PROBLEM: Plastic bottles can take up to 1000 years to biodegradate and currently only 10% of almost 40'000'000 bottles consumed a day worlwide is properly recycled. Bottled water consumed in America in one year requires over 1'500'000 barrels of oil, enough to power up 250,000 homes in the same year.

Litter Games

Our idea is a fun positive way to tackle the major littering problems in any populated area or city. The idea is to encourage people to throw their rubbish in the public bins already provided, with a few adjustments of course! By placing nets, goals or target boards onto bins in specific problem areas or high risk litter zones e.g. In and around Sports stadiums, music festivals and other major outdoor events, we could tackle the problem directly and have fun doing so!

The concept for our project is simple, we want to make washing your hands fun by making it useful as well. Since its invention in 1946, the Magic Eight Ball has become a common household item which has helped thousands of different people make decisions about innumerable subjects, and which has held the fate of many events, some of which we dare not speculate. Ah, to be indecisive, and have a magic device to give you the answers to your questions.

Slide It Doormat

2021-12-15 20:34 - 0 Comments

People tend to pass doormats in public entrances without actively cleaning their shoes. This is a problem, especially in winter, since the shoes are more dirty during the rainy season. The aim was to motivate people opening slide doors with funny and unusual movements. Therefore we combined the unlock mechanism of a fruit labeled communication device with a doormat. Not only tech savvy pedestrians used the mat, but also average people adopted the unlock mechanism intuitively.

A long with the rapid and tremendous growth in technology as well as industrialization of human communities , specific problems in these communities have plagued these societies .among them are the daily mental and psychological strains , tension and anxiety encountered by individuals. Sink Water Light

Both of the idea authors admire taking a shower, not together though :) However, we have rarely thought of how much water we usually consume ineffectively by spending 30 min under the shower. After discussing this issue with other "shower-lovers" it became obvious that the primary reason for spending 30min in the shower is the lack of any time reminders around. To solve this problem and to make keeping time more fun to do, we decided to introduce a "traffic light" system for the sink or the shower, but call it "water light".

The Kwik-E-Green Project

2021-12-16 20:31 - 0 Comments

How can we reward people who stay for the green light and also get them to interact in the mean time?
In a busy crosswalk we often tend to be impatient for the cross light to turn green. But crossing a red pedestrian light can be dangerous.

Our solution: The Kwik-e-Green!

The Kwik-e-Green is a square made out of six pairs of green feet shaped panels with sensors underneath, placed at the side of the curb. When six people stand on the panels the sensors react on the weight pressure of the people and instantly rewards them with a Kwik-e-Green light for them to pass the crosswalk

Talking Crosswalks

This is a simple but very sensible idea. Not only does it incorporate visuals but cross walks will now include sound to make them safer for people with impaired vision. When the button is pressed the speakers greet simply "You have activated the crosswalk" then following could be local weather, or simple facts about life that are updated from time to time. Ending it would say "It is now safe to cross. Thank you for your patience".
This would not only keep people from jaywalking and endangering other motorists, but also give them some knowledge. Submitted by Trevor C. J. Ruff

GENIUS Pee!

We often think that public bathrooms are a dirty mess, and most of the time we are right. One of the things that contributes to it, is people peeing on the floor. Sometimes they are just lazy, irresponsible or drunk, etc. So to help on the 'pee' problem it would be nice if we could play a little game to give all the guys some focus while relieving themselves. It would work like the famous GENIUS® game, having it installed right in the middle of the public urinals. The more you hit on the right colors more points you'll get. And I guess the more you had to drink longer you will play.

Concert Traffic Light

People are crossing the streets and ignoring the traffic lights every day. Why? Maybe they don't have much time, they don't care or they just don't want to wait. Probably because it's no fun to wait. But what if there is a fun way to wait? This is where the "concert-traffic-light" comes in. In front of a traffic light there is a floor sticker with electrical sensors underneath. Each sensor stands for a position in an orchestra, e.g. a violin. By standing on one sensor this particular instrument begins to play.

Polite Light

2021-11-24 16:10 - 0 Comments

People often leave their offices at the end of the day and forget the lights on. This is bad for the company and for the environment. Think about it: if a person works from 8am to 6pm, the lights should be on for only 10 hours, but if they forget to turn it off, it's on for 24 hours, more than twice the necessary. So, can we solve that problem by making turning off the lights fun? My idea is to have a "polite light" that thanks the person every time he/she turns it off. We could use different voices and different languages to say thank you, found in movies or music.
