Fast Shower

2021-12-16 14:18 - 0 Comments

The problem is that most of the people take a lot of time taking a shower, like five minutes-fifth teen minutes. And we waste a lot of water taking a fifth teen minute’s shower every day.

My solution would be taking a shower against the clock. The clock would have a little chronometer in the bottom of a common clock, that chronometer would take you the time you take a shower. After the shower, a little machine is outside the bath room and that little machine gives you more and more money or candies each day if you take fastest shower.

How it will change the behavior?

Chore Clock

Chore Clock

2021-11-20 13:27 - 0 Comments

My idea is a chore clock. Basically all it is is a digital stop watch, like those used in the Olympic Games for track events, hanging in the kitchen over the sink or the dishwasher, or in the washroom hanging over the washer and dryer. On the stop watch it has a record time and the name of whom the record belongs to. This will make doing chores competitive and fun and gives the record holder bragging rights in the house, and hopefully keep kids active and burning calories while pitching in around the house.

On the front of the machine will be a LCD screen which is touch sensitive. the person inserts a dollar bill and then chooses which oregami figure they would like to have created. each figure may represent different charities. the machine will be filled with pre-made figures. after the person has chosen a figure, two previously recorded arms come into the screen to make the figure. we will add sound effects(kung fu) and speed up the footage to make it more entertaining. after it is created the figure will be dispensed out of the machine, down a small canal which will empty out into a fountain.

Global warming threatens to submerge and wipe out entire cities over the world. After suffering the most destructive Floods in over 40 years, the people of the Philippines are terrified by the deadly Powers of Nature...The day after Typhoon “Parma” we explored the devastated streets of Manila and asked ourselves one crucial question: Can we make life in Nature FUN again? We slowly proved through the simplest elements of our Environment, like Wood, Sand and a few Circles, that we definitely can...

Cigarettes gravebin

2021-12-15 21:09 - 0 Comments

Since cigarette butts are a big problem today, as it represent more than half of the litter thrown in the streets , I propose to make a “cigarette cemetery”. This means that there will be small bins that can be attached to the street lamps, garbage bins, traffic lights or panels from the bus stops. After you smoke a cigarette (you kill the cigarette) it would be nice to burry it in the “gravebin”. So when you throw the cigarette butt it should be played a part from the funeral song, or a voice could say “may it rest in peace”, “it was a good cig” and other things like this.

Subway Symphony

2021-12-16 17:34 - 0 Comments

The Theory: This idea is to encourage the average person to incorporate social music/rhythm/sound into their daily commute, instead of having everyone isolated in a personal bubble, This would hopefully lead to more interpersonal interaction, not necessarily through speaking but through music. The Plan: On a subway car, incorporate different areas which form different sounds. (snare drum, piano cords, guitar sounds, etc..) These areas can be anything from a pole, to a small section on the floor, or even part of a seat. They would be touch sensitive, and light up when touched.

Balanced stairways

2022-10-27 14:39 - 0 Comments

The idea consists in using gravity to make an escalator without using electrical energy.
It can be used in a place where people want to go up and down, like the entrance of a subway.
We concentrate people that want to go down in a platform, then the people that want to go up stay in another platform .

These platforms are connected by pulleys in order to guarantee that the weight of people wanting to go down will generate enough potential energy to move the platform with people that want to go up.

The balance can be upheld by cords, that people can pull to control the movement.

Air-drying on a clothesline or rack instead of machine is an easy way to cut energy usage and also save money. With "Who Wants to be a Laundry-naire?" you can turn a chore into a game show! Watch the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" style gameshow on the clip-on screen, and buzz in your answers by pressing the letter keys beside each clothes line (can play with a partner...good incentive to turn laundry into a social event with other family members).

A pyramid with 3 segments n line (or more if other glass colours are required to be separated) for clear, brown, green. Above these is a series of tubes, rotating about a centre axle, spaced at equal intervals. These are ‘loaded’ at the bottom arc, and then rotated to fire in the hole position at the top by a ship’s wheel. You 'load' glass into the tube. The wheel is then used to rotate it upright to the highest position over a protected hole in the container below.

Every time we go to a recycling point we will be given a fact about ecology, or what is happening to the earth and solutions that could be done.
Recycling points must to be part of our daily life. We sometimes don´t know anything about the importance of recycle, so the bin could help us to know more.
Funny that a bin can speak to us, and educational for everyone. Submitted by Veronica M. Guerrero

Slow Down, Hit The Bullseye, Save Lives. Road Darts can be played anywhere. However, due to the problem of slowing people down too much in a congested area, it is recommended to do testing of Road Darts in a busier residential area first to see if it scales. Metrics -A researcher can monitor the proposed location during busy hours for a defined period (24 hrs) using a radar detection device w/o revealing his or her presence. This creates a control. -Then a traditional speed detection device (that displays the current speed numerically) should be placed at the location.

Idea: Hopscotch Lotto. Why not design a special interactive Hopscotch that would encourage adults to exercise and sometimes to win prizes? For example, players would hop from one square to another (similar to numeric keypad principle) in order to create a winning sequence of digits. Here’s how it would work: let’s say the secret winning number consists of 16 digits, i.e. 4698001738372349. That means that each player should make 16 random jumps and if the sequence of numbers matches the winning number 4698001738372349, the player gets a reward. Locations: shopping malls, playgrounds, etc.

Imagine that you never had the time to read. You forgot what it was like to absorb a new book. & your friend Jodi, at work, never reads. Imagine you get so tired driving home you’re worried about your reflexes & so irritated fighting traffic in the morning your blood pressure is going up. And you watch the dark, billowing cloud coming out of your exhaust pipe like it’s eating away at the clean air all around your house. Imagine that you wanted to relax, slip into another world, learn something, play, imagine.
