Hubcap Wind Turbine

Hubcap Wind Turbine

2021-11-20 10:27 - 0 Comments

All wheels turn. Save energy by creating a new form of hybrid that implements the concept of wind as a supplemental source of energy to make the vehicle run. Your hubcaps are the wind turbines, the propellers so to speak create the wind force needed and directed to narrow wind tubes that channel the wind generated by your moving tires to power your vehicle. Your reward is higher mileage for your gas usage.

Gold Mine

2021-11-19 13:24 - 0 Comments

GOLD MINE is a proposal to propagate the use of dry toilets and replace the current Water Closets (WC) in an intriguing kind of way. For The Fun Theory we call the wooden toilet houses GOLD MINE and place them on several public and semi-public places around town. The idea is to engage not only volunteers in building and maintain them but also to connect different parts of the community through the GOLD MINES. What people produce in the GOLD MINES is later utilized to enrich the soil of the community while leaving glittering traces outside of the dry toilets.

I think a fun way to recycle would change everybodys attitude by making a hockey recycling net. Its basically a hockey net loacated at a Recycle Depot. You have to shoot your cans and bottles in the net and you get points. Its fun and your helping the evironment!

The Live Videoclip Book Collector

2021-12-16 19:45 - 0 Comments

The main idea is to encourage people to donate used books using fun, music and interactivity!

A collecting depository will be installed on a very crowded street or avenue. On the top of the machine, a big and wide LCD screen with cameras shows the message bellow.

“Books are light and imagination. Share them and be a star!”

When a book is deposited, the donor chooses a kind of music (jazz, rock, pop, mambo, classic, etc.). After pressing the rhythm button, music starts and the image of the public is displayed by the LCD Screen.

Crosswalk Trivia Game

2021-12-15 18:39 - 0 Comments

We all seem to be in a rush, especially in busy metropolitan areas. In all aspects of this modern life, the temptation to cut corners and take shortcuts is too great. Pedestrians place themselves at great risk when they fail to use crosswalks just to shave a few seconds from their journeys.

Since 1975, over 180,000 pedestrians have been killed in motor vehicle accidents in the United States. The majority of pedestrian accidents occur at locations other than intersections. Jaywalking can be deadly.*

I need you to need me

2021-12-03 11:14 - 0 Comments

I want to arise the awareness of the fact that everyone needs to feel they've been needed, and it's ok to admit we're needy sometimes. To do that, I made two "needy objects", they need the owner's attentions to make them work. One is an alarm clock, to stop the alarm, the owner needs to hug it. The other one is a speaker, the volume will go crazy when the owner is not around. The owner needs to pet it to make it calm down. To see more: http://ineedyoutoneedme.com. Submitted by Elim Cheng.

Ferris bicycle

People don’t get enough exercise and people need energy so if you have lots of bicycles, a ferris wheel, cords, control booth, a energy storage and a lot of people/passersby you could make a ferris wheel that’s powered by bikes and than all of the the extra energy goes to a storage and then when the storage is filled (or mostly filled) a car comes and transports it to someplace that needs it!

Cigarette Butt

2021-11-17 11:31 - 0 Comments

Everyone loves a good laugh! I'm a smoker and can't stand seeing cigarette butts laying on the ground all around a "disposal unit". Let's say to get everyone to start USING the butt can we make one that makes you laugh! The "Unit" is the bottom half of a person. The bottom half of the person is bent over to expose their "buttocks" with an open crack for the disposal ("insert here"). When a person puts their cigarette butt in the disposal area (butt) it passes by a sensor to trigger the sound of a fart.

Men hate throwing out trash. Until you combine a basketball hoop, a garbage can, and a high score together! Add a little sound effect of a cheering crowd that gets louder and louder with every consecutive piece of trash thrown in within a time limit. Maybe even add an announcer - 'He shoots... He scores! The crowd goes wild!

Urban Bird Feeder

n today's most cities, some bird types are part of that city life. We see them around everyday and mostly ignore them. Especially, in the crowded city centers these half crazy/half brave birds throw themselves under the feet of people in sake of finding something to feed themselves. In winter season, the life gets harder for the birds that are not immigrating. Lack of food and water, they keep dying around the city in harsh weather conditions.

The recycling hockey table purpose is to make people to throw their empty cans in the correct bin in order to recycle them. The difference with this table is that you can play and get fun with a can before you throw it away; the can will be the disc and when you score it will go to a close deposit in the table’s bottom.

Soap Busters

For the prevention of H1N1 flu, the guidelines stress washing one's hands with SOAP. Yet, some people in public bathrooms ignore the soap dispensers. They either skip washing their hands, or they merely rinse them in water. We propose posting above the soap dispensers a sign saying, "USE SOAP to COPE with H1N1". The soap dispensers would be equipped with a motion-triggered recording emitting a "Thank you" -- each “Thank you” in a different language.

Why spend your money on new stuff? Why throw away things you don't need? How about you could trade your old stuff for a perfectly good object that someone's not using anymore?
Meet new people , save money and energy needed to produce new things , keep track of your old belongings ( how they travel around the world ) and have fun while doing it!

Crosswalk in memory of the King

Crosswalks are everywhere where we need them, but paradoxically people prefer to cross the street on other places, even when the crosswalk is only few meters away. This causes accidents.

In the videoclip from Michael Jacksons „Billie Jean“, he walks on a path and everything he touches lights up. I always found that fascinating, specially the lights on the floor.

Trampoline Generator

I think it'll be great to make donating fun and easy by putting up special trampolines in parks that are connected to electronic scoreboards. When people jump on the piezoelectric trampoline it generates energy which goes towards building up energy credits for a particular charity cause. People can select the cause they want to support on a digital booth before they start jumping. The energy is collected in a battery or goes directly to the energy company via power lines.

Joking traffic light

2021-12-16 09:26 - 0 Comments

It‘s dangerous to walk when traffic light turns red but some people do. The idea was to stop people walking as soon as the traffic light turns red. So I invented the idea that the red traffic light is going to tell funny jokes to keep people waiting until it‘s green. So they are enjoying the stay and there is no more danger anymore.
