Hand Washing Art

2022-10-27 15:00 - 0 Comments

What problem to solve? It's a problem that people don't wash their hands. After meeting friends, after a toilet visit or just after a day in the city. Unwashed hands can make you or the people you know sick, but that's easy to change. If we make washing hands fun, at hospitals or in public toilets, hopefully more people will start doing it. My idea is that we put a camera in the wash sink, faced towards you. When you start washing your hands, blur colours will appear in the mirror, following your hands move and you will be able to make art. That's my way of having fun.

Chewing Gum Sculpture

Each Spaniard consumes 3 kilos of chewing gum every year. The cost of removing each one of these rises up to 0.68 cents, more than twice its purchase cost. That’s why we propose a funny campaign to prevent people from littering chewing gum. Goal: To prevent people from littering chewing gum and put it in a common place instead, so that the streets of the city remain clean. How? The idea is to create huge, collective sculptures with people’s chewing gum.

Fun Tram Tickets

2021-11-04 13:57 - 0 Comments

This is my idea to use positive reinforcement to encourage people to buy tickets when they travel on public transport. The idea is that through buying a tram ticket and having it stamped onboard, you get the chance to enter an instant win lottery. A pretty fun way to reward people for buying a ticket.

Chewing Gum Machine

Munching chewing gums, can anything bring more fun?
Yes, giving it back! There are some bad news for all, who love to see, how shirty people try to get rid of wet, gray, slimy and old gums under their shoes. From now on there is no possibility to see somebody twiddle with the gummy stuff. Thanks to the chewing gum machine! With the aid of light effects, sounds and loud colors it causes quite a stir.
For everybody who wants to have fun by using garbage cans!

Powertopia

We have become disconnected from the way we generate power and have allowed the use of fossil fuels to become a primary contributor to global warming. Powertopia is a fun, educational playground that teaches children and their parents about renewable energy, the principles of power generation and energy storage. By harnessing the energy that children naturally produce on playgrounds, we can develop their intuition of renewable energy principles. This can ultimately lead to a change in the way children interact with power and understand electricity. Submitted by Oliver Haas

A recycle bin turned into fun poll-machine. Two transparent cylinders with scales are showing the public opinion. People can "vote" with
their garbage, by throwing it into YES or NO can. You can change the questions over the time to keep the poll fresh and sharp, based on what is important at the moment in the given location.

Hand Wash Through Distorted Mirror

2021-12-15 18:29 - 0 Comments

I chose the problem that some people don't wash their hands after using the toilet. It's unnecessary to say, that this is unhealthy, distgusting and can cause many diseases. So I asked myself "Can we get more people to wash their hands by making it fun to do?!" I tried this by installing a motion detector inside the washbasin which recognizes the movements of your hands and sends the information to the camera of the distorting mirror. So your movements were realised in severel distortions, which you can see in the mirror.

Hang Your Hat

I bolted an ordinary coat rack on busy city street corner in a mid-sized midwestern town. When the weather turned cold i began to randomly hang warm gloves and hats on the rack. These items would be gone by the next day. The coat rack entitled "Hang Your Hat" began to collect usable items from other generous passers by. Yet each item hung on the rack was gone the next day. The idea of putting a piece of furniture on the street brings light to the fact that there are people that live on the streets and are homeless.

Joyride to School

2021-12-15 22:51 - 0 Comments

So what's the most boring thing kids have to do everyday? Going to school. They just won't get out of bed or wash up or get dressed or get on that bus. So...what if we made the ride to school really really fun and something kids look forward to everyday. The idea is to transform school buses into boats, helicopters, spaceships etc. Do all sorts of fun things inside - like water-bed seats, video games and music, painting etc. There maybe around 8-10 buses in every school, so the buses can be changed everyday for every lot of kids.

MueveTV

Fight children obesity by motivating the children to exercise and save energy. When the children watch TV they do no exercise at all plus the added calories from the junk food they are eating. The TV plugs in to a motion sensor, if the children is moving the TV stays on, when the children stops moving the TV goes off. This way the children exercises and makes it very hard to eat junk food, also they save energy because the TV turns off when no one is in the room.

Crushing cans can help!

2022-10-27 13:38 - 0 Comments

Are you strong enough? The game is not new but the intention is! A problem to be solved in Brazil and probably in other countries, are the dropped empty cans when big events happen but the idea can be used in other places and situations.

To play people need to put the empty metal can in the right place and smash it as hard as they can trying to make the disc go high enough to touch the bell on the top.

Making it as fun as possible will not be a surprise to see people looking for empty cans on the floor or asking other ones for theirs.

People nowadays tend to be impressed or attracted by something new or unique. The refuse bin was design in an upside down way to attract the crowd (What is your first reaction or impression when you see an inverted refuse bin hanging on the wall?) Throwing aluminum cans can be fun, the upside down way, where your cans will be suck upwards (a fun interaction between human and refuse bin). Funny sentences and phrases displayed on LCD screens after each throwing action, using several weird quotes create some unexpected fun while throwing your cans (i.e.

The flying bicycle is an entertainment thermometer. It invites people who are overcrowd in the traffic or people that simply are passing by. It’s a proposal to generate sustainable and clean energy, using your own body. It is for all the ages, white and costless. Just get on and ride, the energy that you produce whill you twirl the pedals is like the energy which pushs the pinwheels. The more you ride, the more the pinwheels move! The flying bicycle is a proposal to change minds through a different life style. Use your energy, move foward and go far! Submitted by Rasputines.

We don't conceive a transportation system as embodying neutral values, but recognize it as a social construction that creates a certain type of power structure. Metro system hides people's characters, hence a cheerless atmosphere is created. How does this value constitutes norms and results how people behave and use the urban space?

The Cycle Bus

2022-10-27 13:42 - 0 Comments

People often take the bus even if they only have a little distance to cover. By doing the this the people miss the extra excercise they would have got.

But what if we built a cycle bus? That looks like a normal bus but has pedals under every seat. This would give the passengers excercise but also create a mode of transport with no emissions at all.

The Bicycle Bus

People usually prefer to take the bus even for short distances even though one could easily walk instead. Therefor many people miss out on everyday exercise.

If you would create a bus that looks like every other bus but with peddles underneath every seat you would both get your everyday exercise and reduce the pollution of our environment.
