Rewarding Speed Limit Signs

2021-11-12 15:47 - 0 Comments

It's important to slow down in residential areas – children are playing and might run out in the street – and if you’re speeding you won’t have enough time to react. In the USA we have mobile radar detector/signs with large digital displays that warn drivers when they are speeding. But it's not very fun when you see this sign, or very fun to make the number decrease to the speed limit as you decelerate. You slow down out of fear of getting a ticket, not to make driving safer. It focuses on how bad you’ve been. Why not reward good behavior instead?

Could obeying the law be fun?

The Space Snack Rocket

2021-11-20 13:11 - 0 Comments

If we could get kids hooked on fruit and vegetables we would embed a healthy habit for life. My kids love ride-on toys. Every time we go to the supermarket I have to peel them off the ride-on tractor at the shopping mall, so what would happen if a ride-on toy dispensed fruit and veg? Imagine you are a kid again and you get to climb in a rocket that gives you a fun ride with lots of levers to pull and flashing lights and a song about going to the moon. A friendly alien then asks you which space snack you want.

High Fives for Hygiene

2021-12-16 20:21 - 0 Comments

Problem: Germy hands spread disease.
Solution: A robot dispenses high fives and hand sanitizing goo.
As you approach the robot, he senses your presence and calls out to you in a synthesized voice.
"GIVE ME FIVE, DUDE."
"DON'T LEAVE ME HANGIN', BRO."
His hand contains a multitude of pore-like orifices that ooze hand sanitizer. Slap him five, and your hand is covered in goo. And since the slime on the robot's hand is alcohol-rich, even if it gets tainted with dirt and ice cream, it's still sanitary!

Talking Buildings

In many cities, people that live in apartment buildings don’t really know their own neighbors. Talking Buildings is an activity created to help transform urban apartment buildings into living communities, filled with support and love. The activity is quite simple, consisting of a set of challenges to be placed daily in the building’s mailboxes, throughout a given week. These challenges are handed out by someone who lives in the building and wants to be a change agent.

Voting and Recycling

In 2008 we came up with this idea at Miami Ad School Europe. It won awards at Clio and Young Guns but no mater how hard we tried to make it alive, no recycling company were interested. Perhaps they thought it ain't funny.

Crosswalk Trivia Game

2021-12-15 18:39 - 0 Comments

We all seem to be in a rush, especially in busy metropolitan areas. In all aspects of this modern life, the temptation to cut corners and take shortcuts is too great. Pedestrians place themselves at great risk when they fail to use crosswalks just to shave a few seconds from their journeys.

Since 1975, over 180,000 pedestrians have been killed in motor vehicle accidents in the United States. The majority of pedestrian accidents occur at locations other than intersections. Jaywalking can be deadly.*

Another sort of Tetris

2021-12-03 12:42 - 0 Comments

Recycling is getting more and more wide-spread. We will have learnt already how things are possible to be reused, how they should be sorted and where they should be put. However, more attention should still be paid to the recycling of batteries. We all use appliances for which batteries are needed. But when the batteries run down, what do we do with them? Sometimes we take them and throw them away in a box or a bin somewhere in an electric appliance shop. Why not playing a bit when throwing them away, though? All of us have once played Tetris, so why not playing it with run down batteries?

Dancing on Plastic Materials

2021-11-20 10:04 - 0 Comments

I tried to find a way how to remind to people that recycling of plastic materials could be even funny. I selected the environment of business mall. The most of products with plastic packing you can buy right there. When you approach the cash desk there are some coloured areas in special shape on the floor (PET bottle for example - you can easily create another one). When you step on the first part of the "PET bottle", to remind the need to recycle - the part of shape will change colour from violet to GREEN and will make a sound like you really step on the PET bottle by recycling.

Workout Games

2021-11-02 10:48 - 0 Comments

There are vast amounts of games, and lots of different styles that people enjoy. Often bars will have a touchscreen with a variety of entertainment. All of them have a challenge, and with these challenges, I feel people can become extremely motivated to workout... or to them "get to the next level of the game." You see this effect constantly, when people who refuse to run for exercise, will run twice as much when playing a sport. Sports are the primal proof and exercise games are the perfect way to take this hard-wired healthy exercise to the next level.

Powertopia

2021-12-16 20:48 - 0 Comments

We have become disconnected from the way we generate power and have allowed the use of fossil fuels to become a primary contributor to global warming. Powertopia is a fun, educational playground that teaches children and their parents about renewable energy, the principles of power generation and energy storage. By harnessing the energy that children naturally produce on playgrounds, we can develop their intuition of renewable energy principles. This can ultimately lead to a change in the way children interact with power and understand electricity. Submitted by Oliver Haas

Helpful Bumperstickers

2021-12-16 14:52 - 0 Comments

Right now it's pretty safe to say that there are only two ways to tell if your break light on your car is out. Either the police or a friend is driving behind you lets you know. So how do we solve this problem? What's the solution? Why not take bumper stickers and actually make them serve a purpose. Lets make looking out for others fun. Lets give a friendly honk if you see someone's break light is out. Submitted by Nick Schmidt.

Cleaning has never been more fun

2021-11-20 14:15 - 0 Comments

Steer the vaccum cleaner with a joystick. To see who has cleaned the most, you look at a screen. There are also laser canons on the vaccum cleaners, and if player one hits his opponent, his vaccum cleaner will stand still for 15 seconds. The winner is the player who has cleaned the biggest area.

Why spend your money on new stuff? Why throw away things you don't need? How about you could trade your old stuff for a perfectly good object that someone's not using anymore?
Meet new people , save money and energy needed to produce new things , keep track of your old belongings ( how they travel around the world ) and have fun while doing it!

Lock your seatbelt and win a prize!!! It results very negative and boring for the common citizen being obligued by the law to wear the seatbelt when driving their cars, but what if wearing the seatbelt becomes a fun thing to do? With this program every time you wear a seatbelt, the click system counts it, and when you get to a determined number, suprise!!! The counter sounds like a jackpot and you get a text from your insurance company telling you that you have an special gift waiting at the service station.

Hand Wash Disco

2021-12-16 20:07 - 0 Comments

Hand hygiene is a serious issue that can sometimes be overlooked and we want to bring it to the attention of the public by making it FUNKY. Our idea is to create a hand basin infront of a false mirror. When people use the automatic tap and wash their hands, a disco scene appears behind the false mirror. It will be complete with lights, music and an amazing mirrorball. This will make handwashing groovy again. Submitted by Neal Watkin

Hopping To Work

We asked ourselves, how we can help people have more fun walking to work. We decided to play hopscotch. The video submission depicts the results of our game. We chose the busiest intersection in the Philadelphia business community. We have learned that from Ghana to Cambodia, Peru to Iran, hopscotch is universally played and loved.
