Bicycle Path Race Circuit

2021-12-16 19:23 - 0 Comments

People that use bicycle for transportation don't always use the paths ment for them to circulate. Making it fun to use it not only will prevent accidents to people that already use bicycles for transportation but it will encourage people who don't to start using it. We can make it fun by putting obstacles like it was a race circuit, like bumps, zig-zag curves, tiny ramps. Going further we could even have leds that will lit when you pass over them like videogame's turbos. The path could be painted with paint that glow in the dark, so i'll be funner by night. The Vending Machine Project

2021-12-04 09:40 - 0 Comments

Our entry is a sweets vending machine that teaches social responsibility. It gives you the choice of how much you pay. The amount you pay doesn't affect the amount of sweets you get, but the amount of sweets the next people will get. The change is small but cumulative. If people are selfish and pay less money, at the end of the day the machine will be dispensing a very small amount of sweets. If people work for the greater good, at the end of the day they'll be getting lots of sweets for their money. Inskickad av Euan Mils.

Air-drying on a clothesline or rack instead of machine is an easy way to cut energy usage and also save money. With "Who Wants to be a Laundry-naire?" you can turn a chore into a game show! Watch the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" style gameshow on the clip-on screen, and buzz in your answers by pressing the letter keys beside each clothes line (can play with a partner...good incentive to turn laundry into a social event with other family members).

Let Children Grow Up Recyling!

2021-12-15 17:50 - 0 Comments

Children interact with each other, by inventing various games. The most common behavior of children is to climb and get on high places. Psychologists explain this behavior, by children’s’ attempt to see the world from “above”. Children are also very curious and are not afraid from heights. By proposing this installation, we believe to get children involved into the practice of recycling. Such interactive bins can make children aware of their possibilities to throw rubbish in various ways.

MueveTV

2021-12-15 18:17 - 0 Comments

Fight children obesity by motivating the children to exercise and save energy. When the children watch TV they do no exercise at all plus the added calories from the junk food they are eating. The TV plugs in to a motion sensor, if the children is moving the TV stays on, when the children stops moving the TV goes off. This way the children exercises and makes it very hard to eat junk food, also they save energy because the TV turns off when no one is in the room.

The Karaoke bus

2021-12-16 09:36 - 0 Comments

Can you make more people use the public transport? What if a bus would have an interactive karaoke system? This bus would know how many people would be inside it and would light or make a sound either on the seat or on the handle where a person would be located. This would mean that it the person would be the one to sing. Screens would be located in different places in side the bus. This could be an attraction to make more people leave their cars at home and at the same time arrive work with a smile!

Fun Automatic Doors

2021-12-16 13:36 - 0 Comments

I could see that the people always prefer the electric doors then the normal doors because the electric doors always open themselves and the normal doors you have to push or pull. My idea is that when someone open the normal doors it will have a camera that takes your picture and when you open it, the picture will appear on a big screen which will say welcome to you! It will be fun to see your picture on a big screen. Submitted by Alejandro Valladares.

Recycling bins

2021-12-16 16:29 - 0 Comments

Recycling bins are often used inappropriately or not used at all. Yes-U-Can is a magnet from all points of view. Its basic design is a very tall inverted translucent bin, where cans fly to the top thanks to a standard low-power electromagnet. Its advantages include:
* People can see their can as it flays over to the top
* Due to its height, the bin is very easy to see even if you are far away
* By catching peoples attention, it collaborates with the amount of garbage collected by the other two standard bins
* It has an increased capacity, only limited by the decided height

Virtual Ball

2021-12-16 19:47 - 0 Comments

People are often standing still during the day, waiting. We wait in the supermarket queue, at the bus stop and in the metro. Facing utter boredom, wouldn't it be great if we could "have a ball"? Virtual Ball helps people to do some exercise by offering an interactive mirror that augments the user's environment with virtual balls. There are no rules, just simple balls that create endless possibilities for play!

Magic BoXchange

2021-12-03 12:00 - 0 Comments

Your kid got tired of that old toy and keep asking you to buy something different. To encourage them to exchange the old for a different one, just take them to the Magic BoXchange and they will learn that an old thing can be recycled. All they have to do is to insert the old toy inside the box, wait a little bit, and surprise: a different toy will show up on the other side of the machine. You can choose between boys and girls toys', and if they are not satisfied they can keep on exchanging it. Submitted by Silvia Noronha.

The Magic Slatewalk

2021-12-16 11:46 - 0 Comments

When was the last time anyone chose Walking instead of a Moving Walkway? I certainly can’t remember & anyways, who wants to walk that boring route. The Magic Slatewalk will change all that with a little Magic & Fun. The Slatewalk is basically the Magic slate(that amazing lo-fi toy when you were little) on a giant scale. This time you don’t need a stylus or even fingers, just let your feet or trolley do the drawing. Besides being a whole lot of fun, the exercise you get along with it makes it a combo you won’t want to miss! ‘Nuff Said.

Break Down Social Barriers

2021-12-15 14:32 - 0 Comments

Ticket: "Buy None Get Two Free (ice-creams) - For you and a homeless friend". Give to those who wouldn't normally speak with a homeless person. The enticement and mutual enjoyment of a free ice-cream each may help break down the social barriers and get them talking. It would then have long lasting benefits, for the cost of just a few ice-creams.

Musical Bikes

A bike that every time you paddle it sounds with harmonious music. Nowadays a lot of people use cars which produce carbon dioxide. People would chose to ride their bikes instead, enjoying a nice tune while saving the planet. An exercise bike with this function would help people take off some pounds of weight while having a nice time.

Play GETH2O to Spread Peace

2021-12-16 09:47 - 0 Comments

GETH2O is a strategic board game that aims to develop a culture of peace amongst young people. It will be used in youth groups and community centres in order to reach a large audience across Kenya (50 million people). The central theme of the board game is the chronic water shortages in the slums of Nairobi. So doing the game encapsulates both the larger issues and the daily obstacles in the lives of our target group, the young people. Larger issues such as corruption, leadership and human rights, daily obstacles such as peer pressure, crime and water shortages.

Road Darts

Slow Down, Hit The Bullseye, Save Lives. Road Darts can be played anywhere. However, due to the problem of slowing people down too much in a congested area, it is recommended to do testing of Road Darts in a busier residential area first to see if it scales. Metrics -A researcher can monitor the proposed location during busy hours for a defined period (24 hrs) using a radar detection device w/o revealing his or her presence. This creates a control. -Then a traditional speed detection device (that displays the current speed numerically) should be placed at the location.

Playing Moving

2021-12-15 21:01 - 0 Comments

Playing moving is moving because it's fun, not because you have to. Playing moving are tasks/activities you can preform during your daily routine. While being at home, outside or at work. The tasks are very simple and don't cost you a lot of extra time. For example: You need to post a letter, post your letter this time by bike instead of using the car and if you already do that, next time take a postbox which is a little further. Are you in a traffic jam, do some car exercise and so on.

Guitar seat belt

2021-12-15 21:45 - 0 Comments

It's always a great habit to have the seat belt on when driving a car, the thing is that, as a passenger, this habit does not exist as firmly as when driving. So, the question would be: can we get more people to use their seat belt by making it fun to do?. This idea is great either for kids, who are known for disliking seat belts, or for anyone that wants to have fun by being safe.
