I Get Around

2021-11-02 11:38 - 0 Comments

"I get around" is a line of books and encouragement for kids age 0-8 (and their adults). The components encourage physical activity, connection with the outdoors, awareness, and open-ended creativity through having FUN in everyday life, on special trips, and in our imaginations. Quote from book: "I get around and have fun--how about you?" All items are created to take along wherever, and however, you get around.

The Magic Slatewalk

2021-12-16 11:46 - 0 Comments

When was the last time anyone chose Walking instead of a Moving Walkway? I certainly can’t remember & anyways, who wants to walk that boring route. The Magic Slatewalk will change all that with a little Magic & Fun. The Slatewalk is basically the Magic slate(that amazing lo-fi toy when you were little) on a giant scale. This time you don’t need a stylus or even fingers, just let your feet or trolley do the drawing. Besides being a whole lot of fun, the exercise you get along with it makes it a combo you won’t want to miss! ‘Nuff Said.

Daphne, the Waste Paper Bin

2021-12-15 20:25 - 0 Comments

Daphne, the funny Waste Paper Bin will help us!
When we think about recycling, waste paper recycling is perhaps one of the first areas that springs to mind as many of us have been doing this for many years.
Waste paper recycling covers a wide variety of different types of paper. We can recycle newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office paper, holiday brochures, catalogues and white directories (e.g. phone books).
Can we get more people to throw waste paper into the funny bin?

Admit it: When you put your glass bottles in the recycling bin, you do it with just a little more force than necessary just for the joy of hearing things shatter. The Smashcycler promotes glass recycling while providing that same thrill in a safe environment.

The Musical Sink

Can we encourage cleanliness with a simple bit of fun?
Our idea makes hand-washing fun! Stepping on a pressure pad in front of the sink starts the bass and drums, turning the tap adds another layer of music, and pressing the soaps adds the final layer of music.

Toy soap

2021-12-16 19:22 - 0 Comments

A huge problem for any parent couple - to make children wash their hands every time they get dirty.
To solve this problem let's think of a carrot and stick method of teaching - however this time only about the carrot part. There should be a strong motivator of why a youngster must wash his hands.
What if s/he could get something out of the soap after using it? This would facilitate him/her to wash hands as frequently as possible to wash the soap off for getting what's inside it.

Weepy fridge

2021-12-16 11:21 - 0 Comments

What if our food would be equipped with a special timer&player, something we should just start when we put our fresh products in the fridge. When the expiration date is approaching and we are not eating or drinking our food, the food itself will start whining and crying to warn us.
We would need nothing more than an adhesive plate or patch equipped with timer&player. The player will start crying and complaining louder and louder as the expiration date approaches. How stopping it? Drink your fresh food! The plate can be re-used on different food packaging for a loooooong time.

Yes-U-CAN

2021-12-16 16:55 - 0 Comments

Standard Recycling bins are often used inappropriately or not used at all, but Yes-U-CAN is a magnet from all points of view! Its basic design is a very tall inverted translucent bin, where cans fly to the top thanks to a standard low-power electromagnet. Its advantages include:
* People can see their can as it flies over to the top
* Due to its height, the bin is very easy to see even if you are far away
* By catching peoples attention, it collaborates with the amount of garbage collected by the other two standard bins
* It has an increased capacity, only limited by the decided height

The Communication Station

2021-12-15 16:40 - 0 Comments

My 82 year old mother will never own a laptop or a cellphone, but she does have a television. The only technology most households on earth have in common is television. There should be a TV network devoted to sending and receiving messages and this would be called the Communication Station.

Here's how it would work:

- Grandma is watching the Nightly News. Suddenly a flashing envelope appears in the corner of the screen.
- Using the special remote control she received when she signed up for the Communication Station, she clicks on the envelope to open it.

Car eco-driving game

2021-12-15 17:46 - 0 Comments

It is proven that a driver's mood can influence car fuel consumption by over 20%. So what if we could turn driving into an eco-driving game, making it fun? The idea is to read the instant fuel consumption from the on-board computer with a small processing unit, or in older models, read the accelerator pedal position with a simple and cheap infrared position sensor. A small and discrete LCD/LED screen would be placed on the dashboard where a toy face would appear.

Cartoon Bus

2021-12-15 20:43 - 0 Comments

A holographic picture is layed on the bottom of buses, such that it can't be seen from any angle. Only when the person is standing the picture can be seen. Thus, by making the picture interesting for younger people there will be seats enough for the older people to sit down. The picture may convey an interesting story for the young, but an uninteresting story for the old. For example, short jokes (like Garfield) or simply pictures of beautiful women are well suited.

My idea for the project The Fun Theory is to solve the problem of cigarettes consumed and thrown away in parks (causing fires) or in the streets (increasing environmental pollution). I thought to encourage use of outdoor ashtray insert the typical sound of crackling wood that attracts attention and also an hologram on the surface of the ashtray. Depositing the cigarette the hologram reproduces the fire by creating fun and wonder. Submitted by Alessandra Pace.

Virtual Racing Simulation Sytem for Cars

2021-12-16 16:20 - 0 Comments

Imagine a car with a virtual racing simulation system built in it. Press a few buttons on the new simulation panel on the dashboard of your new VW, set up the track and opponents and opaque screens descend over the glass windows on which the simulation is projected or overlaid. With appropiate mechanisms under the seats the simulation will create even more realistic physical empact, transporting the driver into an adrenaline filled virtual world of speed and madness, preventing all the accidents and mayhem that the same would have caused in the real world. The new generation longs for speed.

Clever Bin

Every time we go to a recycling point we will be given a fact about ecology, or what is happening to the earth and solutions that could be done.
Recycling points must to be part of our daily life. We sometimes don´t know anything about the importance of recycle, so the bin could help us to know more.
Funny that a bin can speak to us, and educational for everyone. Submitted by Veronica M. Guerrero

The proposal is to do water attractive, and do people drink more water as usual, making it talk to them. When someone approach, the Drinking Fountain start to say, with a smooth voice, “Drink me Please...”
When pressed the green button, it starts to do noise of someone drinking water, very loud. In other time, it starts to do the sound of water drops, in other tickle laughter, or a nice and relax music, or open faucet very lound, to call attention.
When finish, the Drinking Fountain say "Ahhhhh... delicious water!!" and thanks to people who drink his water.
