Swing Light
2021-12-16 13:54 - 0 Comments"Save power, don't forget to turn off the light," we are told. And yet, often we do forget - for it's so easy to turn the light on, sometimes we don't even remember doing it. What if turning on the light required us to work a bit harder? And what if it was fun? The swing light exaggerates the familiar rope-switch light to emphasize the action of what we are doing when we turn on light, channeling electricity from far-off power sources. The stronger the pull, the brighter the light, the longer the pull, the longer the light stays on. Future prototypes will seek to generate electricity from the mechanical effort of the user - and provide a platform for smoother swinging. Submitted by Miriam Simun.
