Fun Fountain
2021-12-16 14:38 - 0 CommentsOn average, one person uses 166 disposable plastic water bottles each year. The consumption of disposable plastic bottles places enormous strain on our environment and only 90% of these water bottles are recycled. Chemicals in disposable plastic bottles are also toxic to human health but many people are hesitant to use drinking fountains because they are uncertain of the water quality. However, in a number of countries across Europe and the US, there are more regulations governing the quality of tap water than bottled water. “Fun Fountains” will encourage people to drink water without the unnecessary plastic packaging by reinventing the traditional water fountain into an interactive clean water dispenser. Fun Fountains will utilize local clean drinking water and their games can be designed according to their location. For example, a Fun Fountain in the Alps can have an interactive video game where the player tries to catch snowflakes or in a coastal town the game will be to bail water out of a fishing boat. The amount of water the player accumulates in the game will translate to an amount that is dispensed for drinking or for filling up a reusable water bottle. The more you play, the more hydrated you’ll be!
