Battery Beast

2021-12-16 09:15 - 0 Comments

Approximately 35 billion batteries are used throughout the world each year and despite efforts to encourage consumers to recycle rechargeable batteries, about 179,000 tons of battery waste ends up in US landfills alone. Because batteries in municipal landfills and trash incinerators can disperse significant amounts of heavy metals and other toxic substances into the air and water, battery waste prevention and recycling strategies are essential. Welcome the Battery Beast a friendly, battery-eating monster who makes safe battery disposal and recycling FUN. Put him in a public space like the entrance of a shopping market, feed him some batteries and he’ll return the favor by singing and chomping with joy. He may even “poop” out a reward like a coupon for a new rechargeable battery or other environmentally friendly product.
